Membership Committee Spring 2015

San Jose WRAMTA 2015

Membership Committee report

The Membership Committee held a call drive early this year targeting former AMTA members who live in the bay area and surrounding areas to encourage renewing their previous membership.  The call drive was speedily completed with the help from California area music therapists and students, including Kat Fulton, Brittany Olisar, Erin Haley and Ellen Whealton.  Ellen will be taking over the position of membership committee representative for the next term.

The membership committee had a table at regional conference outlining the benefits of becoming a member of AMTA, including the “I Love AMTA Because…” board and “Ask Me Why I Love AMTA” stickers from last year’s conference in Portland.

The membership committee met at national conference last year and discussed a new campaign called “My AMTA Story.”  There are currently four videos from AMTA board members, one including our own Jennifer Geiger, as to why they value AMTA membership.  These videos can be found on the AMTA’s website and YouTube channel.  Attendees of this year’s regional conference were encouraged to stop by the membership table and share their reasons as to why they value membership.
