Teacher – MUSIC THERAPY
Faculty Vacancy: Teacher of Music Therapy
Rank and Salary: Full-Time Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Salary negotiable, based upon qualifications and experience.
Position: The University of North Dakota Department of Music seeks an experienced, AMTA/CAMT board-certified teacher/clinician of Music Therapy to collaborate in a thriving Music Therapy degree program. The successful candidate will assume an active role in the recruitment of Music Therapy Students. Duties include teaching Music Therapy classes and supervising clinical practica and internships. All UND music faculty are expected to participate in performance or research, community outreach, curriculum development, academic advising, campus committees, and to collaborate actively within a collegial faculty.
Qualifications: Masters required, Doctorate in Music Therapy or related area highly desired. Record of successful Music Therapy teaching and supervision, preferably in a collegiate setting highly desirable.
Appointment: Initial contract dates: August 16, 2008 through May 15, 2009.
The Department: The UND Music Department is an accredited institutional member of NASM and features a nationally recognized faculty and staff (16 tenured/tenure track, 17 adjunct). The B.M., B.A., M.M., and Ph.D. degrees are offered, with emphases in Music Education, Music Therapy, Liberal Arts, Performance, Conducting, Composition, and Pedagogy. Metro Music Therapy, Inc. is primarily a
community based practice. Clients are seen
in a variety of settings including nursing
homes, group homes, Day Centers, and private
residences. MMT, Inc. maintains a clinic
site for 1:1 clients. Clients are served
throughout the greater Denver area. You
must have reliable transportation and a
willingness to commute on a daily basis. We
serve Early Intervention through Elderly
populations with a variety of diagnosis.
