      4. Assembly members are here this weekend so if there is anything you want to get back to the Assembly of Delegates, let them know.

        1. Added to voting members to the board – DEI Liaison and Treasurer-Elect
      3. Adjusted the timeline for transitioning the board.
        1. Used to transition at the end of Spring conference.
        2. Now transition at the mid-year meeting so old and new board can be present.
    8. Government Relations Representative – Position currently vacant
      1. Washington’s licensure bill has passed through both houses and is waiting to be signed by the governor.
    9. Continuing Education Director – Hong-Yu (Joseph) Chang
      1. Thanks to the selection committee for helping to ensure we have quality sessions.
      2. Disaster Preparedness summer CMTE – Aug. 5, 2023

        2. Conference is what drives our budget and what drives our ability to pour back into the membership.
        3. Priority for this board is to put the membership over profits so we’ve worked hard to make sure conference is financially accessible.
        4. Board members and committee members can request conference reimbursement up to $50; keep an eye out for an email with instructions.
      4. Arrow Bookkeeping
        1. Provide more consistency in accounting and resources.
      5. Profit and Loss report will be available on the website soon.

        1. The committee is still waiting for direction from AMTA Board of Directors regarding strategic planning to evaluate the role of the committee. The timeline for AMTA strategic planning session since it was postponed in late November 2021.

          1. 5 new bachelor applications received since January 2023
        4. AMTA Board of Directors is in the process of hiring an educational consultant. They will be tasked with initial communication between universities and AMTA, manage distribution of application materials for new programs and re-approvals.
        5. Jennifer Geiger is stepping down. Talk to Erin if interested in this role.
      2. Association Internship Approval – Leanne Wade
        1. Will be hosting some zoom meetings so everyone can get together and get to know one another.

      5. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – Lauren Wilkerson
        1. Affinity group
          1. Trialing open affinity group spaces while making sure it does not infringe on ability to get continuing education credits.
          2. Seeking feedback to meet the needs of the region.
    4. 21st Century Commission – Ron Borzzon
      1. Integrated feedback membership provided via google forms, listening sessions, and stakeholder meetings. Gathered research and resources from MT literature and related professions to inform our work. Recognize you are waiting for our recommendations, we want to exercise due diligence and provide the most complete, relevant, and up to date information possible. We are in the process of gathering and synthesizing more information that will provide further context and depth to our work. We will continue to keep you informed as we strive to move the profession together yet. We are not yet ready to share the details of our report. While we have a large draft report of our recommendations ready, the commission discussed at length the implications of sharing a partial report. That being said, we would be happy to meet with you to provide updates and learn more about the boards plans for moving forward. All our emails can be found on WRAMTA website.

    1. WRAMTA DEI Update- Lauren Wilkerson & Vienna Sa
      1. Vienna Sa – Sits on WRAMTA and sat on National. Everyone on national committee stepped down in December; all these positions are vacant. Not sure what has been going on since December.
        1. In WRAMTA – working to push for advocacy and equitable practices.
        2. DEI position is a lot of work – push back from AMTA Executive board and membership; want to be transparent for those interested.
        3. Rachel Grant – How many positions are there on the committee?
          1. There is one for each region – 7.
        4. Shelly Zeiser – How do we move forward? How can we support the people that are on that committee?
          1. Hopefully the new WRAMTA DEI Liaison will be able to build those connections.
        5. Annela Flores – What are the things that the DEI committee is working on and how is that different from what WRAMTA is doing?
          1. Creating a safe environment for committee members on the board.
            1. Felt like their voices were not being heard.
          2. Created a document on how we dismantle and put back together the system.
            1. Went through the minutes from affinity groups, compiled them into a document, and it is being reviewed.
          3. Lauren Wilkerson – We have put out calls and reached out to marginalized groups, but we have not heard back. We are working to assess and evaluate what the region needs and how those groups can be supported.
    2. Disaster response – Becky Wellman
      1. Checks in when there is an active shooter, fire, earthquake, etc.
      2. Don’t always have access when it is personal (clinic has a flood or fire)
        1. Reach out when this happens so we can support you.

      3. Panel Discussion to discuss health and wellness in LA county.
      4. Yamaha Corporate event to speak on Music therapy.
        1. Upcycle – Using instruments for art that would otherwise go into a landfill.
      5. Awarded half a million dollars to research early childhood intervention in music therapy.
        1. Develop a workshop training to help music therapists work with early intervention.
      6. Received $1 million grant from John Gogian Family foundation to purchase a 7,000 sq foot property
